Monroe Doctrin Political Cartoon

This political cartoon is on the topic of the Monroe
Doctrine. I know this because the cartoonist used labeling. The message of the cartoon is that the Monroe Doctrine separates the Western Hemisphere from the other Hemisphere. The cartoonist shows his stance by literally drawing the two Hemispheres separate from each other. Other opinions on this issue might be that the Doctrine was a bad idea because it made the United States police officers of the western Hemisphere. this might be a bad thing because America has to intervene in problems that doesn't concern us. The cartoonist used they cartoonist used symbolism. For example the people are supposed to represent countries in each of the hemispheres. the cartoonist also used labeling on the hat and on the globe. The cartoon supports my position on imperialism because in the picture uncle Sam is smiling and my stance on imperialism is that it is a good thing.
