This political cartoon is on the topic of the purchase of Alaska. I can see this from the block of ice in the political cartoon that is labeled Russia America. The cartoonists message on this topic is that America got a Block of ice while Russia got a lot of money. This is shown in the cartoon where two people are taking ice and the other keeps the money. Another opinion on this topic is that America gained from acquiring Alaska. This is because we got many resources. the cartoonists used symbolism. The block of ice in the cartoon symbolizes Alaska and the people symbolize America and Russia. Also the cartoonist used labeling. The cart, bag of money, and block of ice are all labeled to show what they are in the cartoon. This cartoon doesn't supports my stance on American imperialism because although Russia got money America got bigger and stronger as a nation. This cartoon is negative because many people thought the purchase was a waste of money.
