 This  political cartoon is on the issue of the open door policy. I know this because there is an animal in the middle of the cartoon that is labeled China. the cartoonists message is that a lot of countries were fighting over china. This is shown by all the weapons the animals are holding. A different opinion on this issue might be that the open door policy was a good thing because other countries got to trade with china. The cartoonist used symbolism. All the animals represent a different country that wanted special privileges with china. The cartoonist also used an analogy. They compared the animals fighting to the countries competing to get china. this cartoon doesn't support my position on imperialism because it is being portrayed negatively. I feel like imperialism is a good thing because many countries get to trade with China now.
