This political cartoon is on the annexation of Hawaii. I can see this in the cartoon where the state of Hawaii is being represented as a child. The cartoonists message on this issue is that the United States is like a guardian to Hawaii. this is shown in the cartoon because Hawaii is shown much smaller than America. Another opinion on this topic might be that Hawaii didn't want to be under the control of America. The cartoonist used an analogy. They compared Hawaii to a child and the US to its parents. Also, the cartoonist used a lot of symbolism. All the children at the table represent a different country. This cartoon supports my position on American imperialism because the cartoon shows it in a positive prospective. The cartoon shows that since the US is bigger than the other countries, it helps them.
